The Adjustment Bureau
I was meaning to watch this movie after Source Code and Limitless but it slipped my mind. I was reminded to download it by a post from Kuya Jod.
The entire concept of the gentlemen working for the Chairman (which is God, if I deduced right) is reminiscent — if not a ripoff — of the Observers from Fringe.
A few seconds from the first appearance of Emily Blunt was enough to make me mutter, “Wow she’s beautiful”. She looks like Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel. :3 Aaand, her accent is a big turn-on.
All the chase scenes with the door portals or whatever they’re called, they’d be super awesome IRL.
I found it amusing that Elise (Blunt’s character) was in flats on her wedding day. On her wedding day. It was as if she was prepared for all the running scenes. Ha-ha.
They clashed the concept of fate and chance, which, I believe, should coincide. If the movie was to remain faithful to fate, then all chances should’ve been outgrowths of every decision of every man, which in turn weaves destiny.
I didn’t quite get the point of the Chairman rewriting the entire plan for David because of how he deviated from the original one He made for him. It suggests that one’s free will is so powerful that even ‘God’ Himself will finally give in if you’re persistent enough.
I specially liked the idea of ripples. It’s like, every minute decision one makes has a grave effect not only to how his life will turn out but to others’ as well.
